I am working as a postdoctoral researcher on the Deep Maps: West Cork Coastal Cultures project at University College Cork, led by Professor Claire Connolly (School of English) and Dr Rob McAllen (School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences). My role combines digital humanities work and historical research.
Research Interests
I completed my PhD in History and Digital Humanities in April 2017. My research explored the relationship between space, place and community on the transnational Courtown Estate, 1649-1977, and .
employed both traditional and digital methodologies.
My research interests lie in the history of landed estates; environmental, maritime and rural history; local, family and demographic history and the use of letters and diaries as historical sources.
