This course is delivered both online and in class and so involved recording lectures and uploading them to SULIS, UL’s online platform, as well as marking assignments and conversing on forums with the students.

I delivered three 2-hour seminars:

  • Immigration and Ireland (survey from Vikings through to nineteenth century)
  • Ireland and Assisted Emigration in the nineteenth century
  • Irish Emigration to Britain in the nineteenth century

MA Local History, University College Cork

Workshop: Digital Tools and Technologies for Local Historians

Designed and co-ordinated this 4 hour workshop introducing MA students to some basic digital tools and techniques

  • extracting data into Excel
  • creating a map
  • creating a blog
  • promoting via Twitter
